Nearly one in two drivers clueless about car servicing
Some Australian drivers may be in the dark in regards to their car repairs, according to the results of our recent survey.
Forty five percent of respondents have no idea whether or not their car needs the repairs or maintenance they’re paying for. A greater proportion of younger drivers don’t know if these repairs are worth the money (59%), which is especially shocking when compared to significantly fewer Baby Boomers (28%) who feel the same.
A little more than half of surveyed drivers wait as long as possible between car services so they can save some money. This goes against the general consensus of respondents, 88% of whom believe regular car services save drivers money in the long run. When the time comes to get their vehicle checked out, two thirds of respondents attempt to save money by looking for the most competitive servicing price available.

Canstar Blue commissions Colmar Brunton to regularly survey 2,500 Australian consumers across a range of categories to measure and track customer satisfaction. The outcomes reported are the results from customers within the survey group who have had my car serviced in the last two years by a car servicing chain – in this case, 547 people.
Brands must have received at least 30 responses to be included. Results are comparative and it should be noted that brands receiving three stars have still achieved a satisfaction measure of at least six out of 10.
