What is Afterpay?
Afterpay allows you to purchase goods from a range of stores and pay in four interest-free instalments. Typically, the first instalment must be paid at the time of purchase, with the three remanding payments to be paid every fortnight. Late payment fees do apply, so to help you keep on top of your repayments, Afterpay sends out a schedule and reminder notifications.
If you select the Afterpay payment option, you’ll be required to make an account if you don’t already have one. To be eligible, you’ll need an Australian debit or credit card, be over the age of 18 and reside in Australia. Customers generally get approved there and then, with the order then being shipped like any other. The service is available online via your Afterpay account or instore via the Afterpay app. The app also lets you manage orders, make payments and identify other retailers with Afterpay.
How does Afterpay work on Appliances Online?
Using Afterpay with Appliance Online works in the same way as with any other retailer:

- Select Afterpay as your payment method
- Enter your details with Afterpay
You will then have the payment schedule emailed to you. Appliances Online requires you to make the first payment at the time of purchase, with the following three repayments being required to be paid over the next six weeks.
According to Appliances Online, if you’ve been an Afterpay user for at least six weeks, for all orders under $500, you can make the first payment within 14 days, instead of at the time of purchase, with all other repayments to be made in the following eight weeks.
